Satan Loves Your Leadership

Okay, does Satan love your leadership? Well, yes, most of the time and here’s why. Satan does not want to replace Christian leadership … He just wants to redirect leadership. Satan knows that one of the best tools in His arsenal against the Church is redirected leaders. If you have people who look and sound like the Christian Message but are redirecting Followers to move further away from Christ, then you have an effective force of Deception. Let me explain.

John 10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

The stealing, killing, and destruction has to do with taking God out of your life. Satan will steal what God gives you, kill the desire to Follow God, and bring destruction to the Truth in your life. All of this has to do with getting you to fall away from God.

Now keep that in mind, because that is the basis for why Satan wants you to continue to lead people and be a leader in the Church.

There are three areas where Satan works in the Church to steal, kill and destroy:

1. Satan redirects the Emphasis

2. Satan redirects the Message

3. Satan redirects the Vision

The Emphasis

Any emphasis begins with capturing our interest and then we make that emphasis the focus of our ministry. For example, when our emphasis is on Prayer, we convince ourselves that Prayer is everything and as a result that is our emphasis. Now, hear me well because I don’t want you to think I don’t think Prayer is important because it is … but Prayer is not everything. We can become so enthused about Prayer that we fail to act intentionally upon those Prayers.

Proverbs 19:2 Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes.

The emphasis today in many Churches is about how to grow in our knowledge of self. The emphasis is on the need to change our outlook, become more aware of our personal health emotionally and Spiritually, and move toward a better life now. Even though building Godly Character is Biblical, the idea that somehow we will change the world by changing ourselves is not the emphasis of the Bible.

The emphasis today that tells us that the Church will change the world and will dominate the influences of culture is just not true. There is no indication in Scriptures, especially in the Prophetic Scriptures, that give us that idea. It is True that the Gospel will influence people and cultures if embraced, but to dominate the world and get it ready for the Coming of Jesus is just not a Biblical thought. The Bible is clear that people will fall away from God in the Last Days and the times will become Darker than any other time in the history of the world. Nothing in Scripture says there will be world domination until Jesus comes back to Rule and to Reign from Jerusalem. In the meantime, it is a rescue mission and we are throwing lifelines out to people who are drowning in the sea of unbelief and depravity. The emphasis is important because it is the driving force behind the Message.

That brings me to the second tactic of our Enemy … the Message.

The Message

Satan loves to play with Truth, which means He doesn’t totally get rid of Truth … He just redirects it. His specialty is half-truths where He redirects Truth just enough to make it distorted and untrue, but most people don’t know that and don’t detect it.

Here is the biggest half-truth on the planet today … ‘God is Love.’ Who is going to argue with you about that? But Satan takes that fact, the fact that God is Love, and leaves out that God is Justice also. God’s Mercy does temper His Justice, but you cannot talk about God’s Love without finishing it with His Justice. If you live your life believing that God is Love but don’t believe that God is Justice also, you will continue to sin your life into Hell. You cannot define God as Love without defining God as Judge.

Here is the Biblical Truth about Love and Justice. Jesus came the first time because of Love, and His Justice for sin was completed upon The Cross. When Jesus comes back again, He will come back as Judge to all who refused to live within the Forgiveness of His Love. God’s Forgiveness and Grace is free, but you must act upon it and allow God to change your life.

The last area Satan twists is our Vision.

The Vision

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, but happy is he who keeps the law.

Satan doesn’t want to take our Vision … he just wants to redirect it. Change the Vision by adding something to it that doesn’t belong to God. We read about that in Scripture where there is a famine, and when the famine is a lack of God’s Word anything can be thrown into the Pot we call the Church.

Death in the Pot:

2 Kings 4 38Elisha returned to Gilgal and there was a famine in that region. While the company of the prophets was meeting with him, he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot and cook some stew for these prophets.” 39One of them went out into the fields to gather herbs and found a wild vine and picked as many of its gourds as his garment could hold. When he returned, he cut them up into the pot of stew, though no one knew what they were. 40The stew was poured out for the men, but as they began to eat it, they cried out, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it. 41Elisha said, “Get some flour.” He put it into the pot and said, “Serve it to the people to eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.

Many Visions that are presented to a Church or a ministry audience has something in it that does not represent God. Every cook knows that something could be added to a recipe that is not in the original ingredients that could destroy the meal.

Many Visions that are preached today as being from God, are not … Visions that ask us for money, Visions that promote a teaching, Visions that promote an event. There are even Visions that predict when Jesus will Return. Remember, Satan doesn’t mind using God Language in any of His redirects, but His intent is never to tell the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth. He is the Master of deception and loves to play with the Truth.

Keep your eyes on Scripture only. Test everything to see if it lines up with the Bible to verify everything you read and hear.
