Life is Lived Between the Risks

I have become a fan of Dennis Prager’s Fireside Chats. I like them because he makes sense; he talks about common sense (or can we say wisdom), when everyone else is speaking fear. His meme is, ‘”Until it’s SafeMeans Never’.

He challenges the idea that safety is a word that has become a lie, and I happen to agree with him. The Bible is a Book of Risks, not safety; in fact, even Jesus told us: “In this world we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Everything we do in life is a risk. As Dennis says, you marry, that is a risk. You have children, that is a risk. You drive in your car, or fly in an airplane, that is a risk. Even when you think you are safe in your house at night, you may not make it out of that house if there is a fire at night. When did this world become safe for anyone? Safety will only happen to us when we die, then you are safe from this world. However, if you don’t know Jesus as your Savior, you have bigger problems than being safe from anything in this world.

I have said this from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic:

1. This is a dry run showing us how people will react when great disasters affect us. This is why I have applied Amos 3:7 to this virus. “Indeed, the Sovereign LORD never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets.” God is gracious to us to show us how fear will control the hearts of people. Jesus said this of the Last Days. “People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken.” Luke 21:26 COVID-19 is a dry run of what we will see as the new normal where people will live their lives in fear.

2. The big three disasters that will shake the earth, earthquakes, famines, and pestilences, will perpetuate the fear COVID-19 has started and will not stop. We have not paid much attention to the earthquakes that have been happening all over the world, or the locusts destroying crops in Africa, because our Country is busy preparing for the second and third waves of fear. Again, all of these are Signs that God has put into place to remind us that without Him in our lives our default will be fear.

3. The Bible tells us that the world will create a false sense of peace and safety, but it is only a placebo. “For you are fully aware that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, ‘Peace and security (safety) destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief.” 1 Thessalonians 5:3

Listen you cannot trust this world, and what it tells you. I know that sounds conspiratorial, but it is True. We have entered into a time of lies and fear, and nothing can be trusted outside of what the Bible tells us is True. That is a reality that many of us have not quite come to grips with yet. We are being lied to and manipulated by fear. It is an agenda that is creating a path of social acceptance of the next wave of safety which is electronic surveillance and control. Chips inserted or tattooed on your skin to prove you have had the latest vaccination against any new pandemic virus. You will not be able to buy or sell without this mark. Sound familiar? Costco and a few other stores as a result of COVID-19 will not let you shop in their stores without a mask. (Another dry run) Airlines will not let you fly without a mask.

This is what the Churches used to preach, but many refuse to do so today because it scares people. Christian leaders who do not preach the Truth of what will happen in the Last Days on a regular basis in order to prepare a people for His Return, are leaders the Bible would call anathema (a curse).

1 Corinthians 16:22 If any man loves not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema. Maranatha.

How can you say you Love Jesus and not tell the whole Truth found in His Word? You now have become God’s editor, deciding what is and what is not appropriate to tell your audience of people who belong to Him. Sound crazy? Well it is on every level.

Life is lived between the risks, and God does not always protect us against them. People die from disease, accidents, suicide, substance abuse, murder, and a host of other causes, and that is the reality of life. It’s sad when anyone dies, but we will never be safe and completely protected from death. Death is a reality of life, and to not live life to its fullest potential because you are fearful of death is a tragedy in itself. That is my point! Live between the risks of life, so prepare yourself by coming to Jesus and Trusting Him with your life. In doing so, you are assuring that if life takes a turn toward death for you, you will never worry about it again because you will live in Heaven with Him.
